In the past, the dapper Dutch apparel makers at Ontour have provided us with some deliciously wearable duds. This time around they’re proving that their attire can be downright addictive. Their fall/winter ‘08 line, Cosmic Crack Ontour is the product of a collaboration between the brand and fellow Eindhoven native Cosmic Crack (aka Crackrock), a botanical artist with quite the array of work under his belt. The co-founder of BetaMaxxx made the designs using a variety of different methods, none of which included direct computer imaging. Each particular piece tells its own unique story through design, whether referencing the architectural infamy that is North Korea’s Ryugyong Hotel or just playing on some people’s penchant for being clad entirely in tinfoil, every tee and/or hoodie in this collection has a deeper meaning beyond shapes and sizes…and they look pretty sweet too. See for yourself by downloading their lookbook.

R.E.M. didn’t really sing about the world ending in a fashinable way, but Dutch clothes hounds Ontour have come up with an interesting spin on the hipster t-shirt: impending disaster. They descrbe their work as: “a pandemic combination of Bermuda Triangles, Morse codes, S.O.S. Wurms, Tornados, Explosions and UFO Burgers…” UFO Burgers? We dig an aesthetic that incorporates colorful polygons, swirling vortices, and aliens that arrive in meat patties. Besides, wasn’t it T.S. Eliot who said, “This is how the world ends, not with a bang, but with a Whopper?”

Orbino, the Italian Company that lives to cover iPhones in tanned Tuscan leathers, just released a new hand-stitched case for the iPod Touch. Called the Corsa, the new skin comes in several colors and a richly stained wood, and carries the same features as Urbino’s other premium cases. Unlike many if the iSomething cases out there, Urbino’s skins respect the already elegant contours of Apple products, making your phone or music player look extra sleek instead of extra safe. Check out the full line here.

Ontour, our nutty Dutch friends are at it again with their Fall/Winter Collection called Hide Ontour. This season features a winter jacket (an Ontour first), some killer knitted sweaters, scarves, and a stellar set of t-shirts for both guys and dolls alike. The ingenuity and humor behind this Dutch brand never seizes to amaze me. Pop by their site to see the entire look book of the new collection– great stuff guys.

I love working from home for all the obvious reasons, but I still wax nostalgic about the time I used to work in the historical Bradbury Building in L.A., a beautiful brick structure that was the location for many films, including Blade Runner. It made battling for an hour in traffic seem not so bad, with such a pleasant conclusion. Considering the hellish traffic here, the employees at Sao Paulo PR company Loducca are likely feeling the same way because of their week-old digs, which come with such irreverent amenities as a garden that imitates the beach, a stellar view of a nearby church, an inflatable meeting room and colored lights in the parking garage. The organic-shaped building was designed by Brazilian architectural firm Triptyque, who was responsible for the techno look of one of the city’s most famous clubs, D-Edge. Based on the need to neutralize the belligerent atmosphere of the street for a working environment, Triptyque utilized layers to create a softer ambiance inside, starting with one of wood on the shell of the structure to filter in light in different ways, according to the contours of the building. But how do they expect anyone to get anything done with a beach in the backyard?

This will be the last post about ICFF this year, I promise. There were just so many treasures hidden in the sea of eurotrash uh, trash that was too good not to share…after this we’ll be back to the bite-size pieces you know and love.

Rocking benches, snap-on wineglasses, Dan Funderburgh’s new wallpaper and more, after the jump.

The boys at the Netherlands-based Ontour Lab have let loose their latest season of guy’s and girl’s clothing, and the slashy designs that are making this season’s “Sliced” theme come alive are an edgy and visually gratifying experiment in abstract graphics and placement. Interesting combinations of geometric shapes and sharply cut lines dominate most of the season’s offerings, and some of pieces are even more awesome thanks to the slightly confusing, yet well-harmonized, cut and re-sew process present in a few of the tees. I’m really lovin’ the new polo for guys they added this spring, and even though the sun’s out, I could still go for one of these incredible hoodies. Unfortunately, there’s still only one U.S. stockist for Ontour, so check out World NYC to see what you can pick up without needing an airline ticket.

I know it’s only February (almost March), but I wanted to pass this piece of news while the snow is still falling… before you’ve gone into beach mode. Throughout this coming summer, the 2007 DNA Evolution Tour will be coming to a ton of locations throughout Utah, Colorado, Idaho, and Montana, giving urban jibber types (both skiers and snowboarders) the chance to strut their stuff in a warm summer setting. Now I know a lot of you out there are thinking: “why in the hell would anyone want to ski or snowboard in the summer, especially in an urban setting?” I don’t have a good answer to that question, but I can tell you that a lot of kids out there are really into this stuff. They’re pushing the bar higher and higher, taking their skills to insane features like the Big Rig (pictured above, right), the honorary DNA Evolution Tour feature. The first event will be on May 26th in Ogden, UT, and the final event will be right on our front step at the Jibij Pro Shop in Boulder on September 1st. This tour should be fun for both spectators and competitors.

Gore Design Co. has made a name for itself since its 2004 inception by creating design-forward, environmentally responsible products for residential and commercial application. Today I earmarked Gore’s Erosion Sink for when I build my first house. It may be the digital cartographer in me coming out (that was a former job of mine), but I love how Gore uses contour lines to step down the elevation of this sink into the off-set drain area. The sink is made of concrete — as are many of Gore’s designs — which is “organic, timeless, a true reflection of nature’s beauty.” I find myself falling for concrete more and more as a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing building ingredient– it’s a material for which the possibilities are endless.

On Tour Lab strikes again with their autumn / winter 2006 collection of tees, sweatshirts, and hoodies dubbed Big Mouth Ontour. This season is a tribute to those who say the wrong things at the wrong time and never keep their mouths shut and is full of chatty mouth graphics and big camo-toothed printed track jackets. Favorites from the women’s collection include the “Cherry Bomb” sweatshirt and the “Flytrap” long sleeve tee and for the guys the “Dentist” zip hoodie (shown here) or the “Trumpet” sweater are not to be missed. There’s dental warfare, chattering teeth, flytrap plants, comic swearing signs and big bites all over the place this season so make sure to check it out and satisfy your fashion appetite!

If you haven't noticed our obsession with scooters, especially the Honda Zoomer, than you might need to have your eyes checked. Right now the guys over at skater and rocker online clothing shop Fresh Cotton are giving away a Honda Zoomer “Mosquito” customized by our friends over at ONTOUR LAB. These mad wheels sport a custom black and gray mosquito print with a bright purple seat and come with a matching t-shirt because your scooter and clothing have to coordinate. All you have to do is purchase a tee from Fresh Cotton and you're automatically entered for a chance to win. Gambling starts the 15th of September so make sure to check out the goods and don't miss your chance to win one the most “fly” scooters out there!

My pals at On Tour will be showing their new Summer 07 collection at Bread and Butter Berlin. If you have a chance to make it to B&B July 14th, 15th and 16th, go see these guys, they’re a lot of fun. They’ll be in the street culture area, hall KA 34, Booth SC 35. Tell ‘em I sent you and they will treat you like royalty (Royal Jelly Royalty). These guys make some of the most unique creative story-telling fashion I’ve seen in a very long time. They seem to have an endless imagination, keep it up!

Remco and the quirky creators of Ontour Clothing are at it again. Their Spring/Sumer 2006 collection is about a girl who loved to eat jelly pudding so much, she couldn’t stop eating them all day long. The girl ate, and ate, and ate and all of a sudden transformed into a jellyfish! Okay, goofy fairy-tale aside the new line inspired by this funny tale is actually pretty nice. This shirt has jelly beans falling out of an upside down pocket, goofy.
