The kitchen at my office freaks me out. It’s not that there’s ever a shortage of spoons or bowls (or free coffee or toast, for that matter) but there’s someone who doesn’t understand that dirty dishes don’t go in a clean dishwasher. That said, I’ve taken to stashing a bowl and spoon on my desk for my cereal in the morning, but three days a week when the cleaners come, that’s out the window. I may have found a solution: Flavour Design’s Bowl with Spoon at Farmhouse Wares. Rest assured that my new filing cabinet will have a space dedicated for this baby, along with a sign imploring my coworkers to keep their grubby fingers off it. Designers, you know. They can’t be trusted!

Greenery is a rare thing in many urban environments. Often times the only traces of vegetation we see sprouting up are in between the cracks in the sidewalk. We're not exactly sure if that's what inspired French Designer Frederic Ruyant to create his ‘Bloody Urban Green’ vases, but you can probably see where we got that idea. These ceramic creations contain perforations to allow those for whom a vase is simply not decoration enough, to weave their own materials along the outside and apply their own personality to that of the flowers of their choosing. Whether you decide to decorate with a ribbon or a rose you'll be exhibiting that your own nature can exist in harmony with Mother Nature.

Robert Ryan loves paper…though we can't say for sure if he likes to read things on it, but we know he likes to take sharp objects to it in the name of art. The London based artist specializes in slicing up pieces of paper to create one-of-a-kind images that one might describe as playful, visceral and dynamic all at the same time. While Ryan's favorite material to work with is paper, he also transfers his creations to a variety of mediums, including screen prints, textiles, ceramics, or laser cutting. He's got quite the collection available of arresting work available at his misterrob Etsy shop. Our favorite is this hand-printed, hand-fired piece that asks the question, ‘Why Are You So Naughty?’ and answers ‘Because I'm So Happy.’ Does that make us naughty or happy for finding Rob Ryan's work?
