Chat rooms were great when you had your first long distance relationship, but you’ve grown older and moved on. Now you’re old enough to develop professional relationships. There are plenty of sites that cover that, but if you happen to be a creative type looking for fellow web collaborators and don’t want to wade through all the fish in the Craigslist or Linkedin sea, may we suggest CollabFinder.com? The new social networking site from the same folks who brought you Rumplo, seeks to connect web designers and developers to that one special person or group looking to make their net projects come to fruition. So jump right in and find that partner that you can click with.

One of the main components in getting any company off the ground is staffing. While sites like Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com have a way of muddling the process, forcing the new businesses and experienced job seekers to wade through a sea of options to find each other, Startuply is a niche job site that focuses solely on the startup. In an effort to improve the user experience and get your idea off the ground, the site features an easy interface (view listings by passing over them, rather than clicking through) and desktop apps that (hopefully) make the process a little less painful.

This reminds me eerily of the Zach Slow + Lady Sovereign fiasco a little while back, but who am I to get in between three men and their dream. Pool Boys at the Mansion is a recently-surfaced guerrilla campaign by Sam Rush, Denman, and The Swede (gotta love their names) to win jobs as pool boys at the holy grail of pools at the Playboy Mansion. They’re basically looking for people to write them letters of recommendation so that when they go in for an interview in August, they’ll have the support of the masses. They want people to be really creative with their letters, so this could be a fun little writing exercise. I’m willing to do my part to help these lads on their quest to scrub unknown substances off of the walls of the Grotto… are you?

Well Threaded is like Monster.com for those looking for jobs with progressive fashion labels. If you want a career with one of these uber-hip companies, go to Well Threaded, set up an account, post your resume, and browse for jobs. You can get in touch with posting employers, or — if you are something really special — they may get a hold of you. I checked out the job postings this morning, and there were definitely some good ones on there–Director of Planning for Trovata, Regional Sales Manager for Hecklewood, Strategic Business Director for New Era Caps–just to name a few. Well Threaded also has a news feed that will keep you up to date on the happenings in the fashion world. While Well Threaded has a lot of room to grow, I really like the idea of a narrowed-down, niched, fashion-focused version of Monster.com and its progeny.

Believe it or not, one of, if not the best software companies in the world has a consulting agency– Adobe Consulting. I received a note from some friends who work there telling me that they’re in search of absolutely world-class talent in London, Tokyo, New York and San Francisco. They don’t design websites, they create beautiful, sophisticated web applications. They’re seeking Interactive Art Directors and Information Architects with experience designing rich Internet applications. Are you a top-of-class web application designer? Want to work alongside some of the most talented designers in the world? Full-time and freelance opportunities are available.
