Hamburger Wrapping Paper

GiftCouture 1

Gift Couture will offer high-quality wrapping paper sets that feature original photography and design. Their main goal is to produce unique papers that coordinate together into conceptualized themes and sets.

This is exemplified in the Cheeseburger set that they chose to use as this initial project. This includes 5 different wrapping paper designs; a bun, hamburger, cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes, all of the components of a Cheeseburger!

I do prefer wrapping with newspaper or something recycled, but this is fun. It’s on Kickstarter right now. $584 of the $7900 goal.

Freehands 2011

Freehands 2011 iphone

Our friends at Cool Hunting have released a new set of touchscreen-friendly gloves. I particularly like the leather version below. Congrats!

These supple leather gloves sport a sleek design lined with a soft knit blend of cashmere, wool and nylon. Like most Freehands gloves, the leather collection features a foldable tip on the thumb and forefinger to allow the wearer free use of touchscreen devices or simply find the right key in your pocket.

Wooden Animal USB’s

Walnut, chestnut, mahogany, ash. Not typical materials you would find in the construction of USB drives. Lambria brings us a line of 2GB USB drives made entirely by hand representing cute little animals.

There are 5 animals from which you can choose: the dog, elephant, the gosling, the wild boar and the turtle. The packagings of these USB drives are well thought out with every animal designed in its natural environment: the bone for the dog, the pond for the gosling, the motor-racing track for the turtle, the forest for the wild boar and the savannah for the elephant.

Fortune Cookie Coin Purse

Loving Diane Eng’s Fortune Cookie Purse.  Like real fortune cookies, these purses are proudly made in the USA. No animals were harmed to make these purses! Made from recycled leather, each purse has a unique number on it so you can track its origin.

Some examples of origins below (more on the site).

Preconsumer scraps from a high-end designer furniture company After furniture patterns are cut out, this leather scrap is left over. These scraps were destined for the dumpster, but a friend at the company saved them for me.

Remnant leather from the garment district. This pelt had ink stains making it unsuitable for garments. I cut cookies from the clean areas on this pelt.
