So the name Reed comes from Jeff’s HS art teacher (from Marlboro, NJ), Michael Reed. I believe jeff was quoted somewhere as saying the store is basically whats inside his brain. And for extra credit, the annex part comes from a store near the reed annex?

I think Reed Space was named after one of Jeff’s high school teachers – Mr Reed, who had a big influence on his work and subsequent career. I will be in New York from Dec 22 until Jan 4,so hopefully that counts me in. if i’m not there when it goes off, can my wife sub for me?

The Reed Space is named after Mr.Reed, which was Jeff’s art teacher at Marlboro High School who has since passed on. Jeff named it after Mr.Reed because he has had a great influence on his life, and the naming was sort of in memory of.

Jeff named it REED Space after his art teacher Michael Reed. The philosophy was about “Educating People”, and Michael Reed did that for Jeff, so in turn, Jeff named his store after Michael so people could walk in and read and learn about a brand. Just like the way Jeff learned from Michael.
