Morgan the Stuffed Cat lives in the narrow streets of Barcelona’s old town. He sleeps during the day, coming out at night to patrol the waterfront. His role as night protector of the docks has come with a heavy price – regular beatings and broken stitches. His payment comes in the form of barely fresh fish and unlimited sewing appointments with a local tailor.

His worst night came when he encountered the mermaid. Her name was Ariane and she was stealing fish from the vendors Morgan had sworn to protect. Without any consideration for his own safety, he leaped into the water and fought her off. After initially trying to battle her hand to hand, he realized he was outsized and began attacking her fishy bottom half with his teeth. The plan worked and Morgan lived to fight another day. Albeit with a need to have his right eye replaced.

Abram was certainly not the fiercest vampire to ever walk the earth, as his clumsiness made it nearly impossible to feast upon the delicious blood of the girls who pranced around town. However, his mother had taught him to never give up, and while his lastest scheme of tricking his victims into taking him home with them by dressing up as an adorable little rabbit had improved his situation, he still wasn’t satisfied.

So when he heard that two old ancient vampires would be passing through nearby, he decided he had to learn as much as he could from them. He met them on top of a hill outside town.

“Oh won’t you please teach me your secrets. I’m young and I have much to learn from two old masters like yourselves,” Abrahm said.

“Very well, watch closely,” said the first, a thousand year old vampire who swooped off and was back in a flash, blood dripping from his fangs. “See that village over there? I killed every single villager,” he proudly announced.

Unimpressed, the two-thousand year old vampire swooped off and in a flash he was back, this time his whole mouth bloody. “That was nothing. You see that town over there? I’ve feasted on every single person in that town,” he smirked.

Eager to show what he had learned, Abrahm swooped off and faster than a flash, he returned with his whole face bloodied. It was the bloodiest sight both vampires had ever seen in their life. Awed, they waited silently for their apprentice to speak.

“See that tree over there? I didn’t.”
