Android 8 is open! Alas the launch of Android 8, one of the hottest online stores I’ve seen to date. It’s astounding how nice this store functions and looks–not to mention it has a line of limited edition products we’re not going to see anywhere else on the web. They have a lot of killer work by people like Brendan Monroe, Luke Chueh, and Brian Taylor aka Rustboy. T-shirts, toys, and more. Best of luck to you Android 8!

If I weren’t traveling somewhere warm and sunny, I’d go check out Gary Panter speaking in NYC tonight, March 22nd. It’s apart of the AIGA New York Chapter events. Gary Panter is a three-time Emmy winner for his production design on Pee-Wee’s playhouse, and also a recipient of the 200 Chrysler Award for Design Excellence. Needless to say, this guy is very talented. He’s set out to talk about his origins and transitions from a fundamentalist Christian missionary to a punk rock cartoonist, pop artist, set designer, fashion designer, and much, much more. “Throwing off pop-cultural milestones for 35 years, starting with his iconic Screamers logo from the '70s, record covers for Frank Zappa, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Residents, and his ongoing comic character Jimbo; to his set and puppet design for “Pee Wee’s Playhouse? which immediately became a model for what is acceptable and expected in illustration, animation, and advertising. Recently, for the Tokyo-(and now New York) based clothing company BAPE, he designed a line of Panter fabric and clothing.”

It’s all happening tonight–Tuesday, March 22nd at the Tishman Auditorium, New School University at 7pm–and it’s $25 for the General Public, $15 for AIGA members. More info here.
