The O’Neill H2 Solar Backpack is the first pack I’ve seen with integrated solar panels that actually looks pretty decent. Their clearly marketing to the younger demographic with this one. It features USB-based charging of devices, it has extensive iPod integration through a control panel on the left shoulder strap. It also has an integrated Bluetooth module, which connects to a microphone in the straps–so when you get a call with your Bluetooth enabled phone, the backpack will automatically pause your iPod and you can take the call.

Corey Arnold is an incredibly talented photographer from Southern California– his photos are provocative and simple. This photo is from a series called “The Animal Condition”, a collection of simple black and white photographs he took of animals away from their level of comfort and in confusing situations. This is from a series of photos which were exhibited in Oslo in ‘03, and they were large format–towering images 15 feet wide and up to 9 feet tall. He has a couple other incredible series on his site, but this was my favorite.
