Chris Dennler and Nick Motte started rxmance as a small independent clothing company. Right now they make t-shirts and tops. They were founded in Boulder, CO but are now out in San Diego, where they make their own silk screens and hand print each individual shirt. All the art and designs are done by them, and are mostly hand drawn. They say they’re “perpetually” making new shirts and doing deconstructed vintage stuff too”–and in Spring 2006 we’ll see the first cut and sew line. Their inspiration comes from traveling, music, architecture, art, nature, and the history channel– and they say they aren’t really concerned with trends or what colors are in or simply resting on a brand name. They want to be the “anti-trend company”. Regardless of that, their designs are pretty stellar.

The word’s first “Undersea Restaurant” has opened in The Maldives. The restaurant is a part of the Hilton Maldives Resort, on Rangali Island. The restaurant, which is called Ithaa, sits five meters below the surface of the Indian Ocean, surrounded by coral reefs, schools of fish, and general fun to watch marine life. All of this can be scene through the clear curved acrylic encasing, based on aquarium technology. The room is small, and only seats 14–so good luck getting a seat. Costumers get into the restaurant through a spiral staircase from a deck above the water where the a la cart menu is served. More info and pictures are on Hospitality Net.
