I dig everything oki-ni is up to, they always are up to some of the sickest design and co-branding around. This is a collaboration they just did with Motorola, re-designing faceplates for the V600 phone. The collaborations are with Fashion designer Eley Kishimoto, Tanner Krolle, and Gavin Turk. “Rare functional works of art”, with price tags to match. This Kishimoto model goes for $580.

Crazy super prankster “Banksy” is at it again, this time with a treasure hunt in The British Museum. The British Musuem houses the Rosetta stone, The Elgin Marbles, and now a piece of rock found outside the building that Banksy has drawn a pre-historic man pushing a shopping cart on. His site says it has remained in the collection for some time now, and they’re offering a prize to the first person to locate the piece of rock and photograph themselves next to it. Trying to remove or alert museum staff is instant dis-qualification. Oh, I love treasure hunts, I wish I was in London! More at the Wooster Collective

I couldn’t possibly cover the International Contemporary Furniture Fair I attended yesterday in NYC at any capacity–so I ‘aint even gonna try. It was just too damn big–but it was a lot of fun and I’m glad I could make it out and meet some familair names, and see what some of the design world was up to. I can however point you in the direction of two friends who have done an extraordinary job covering the event. Design Sponge and MoCoLoCo take the cake for the best photos and ultimate coverage of the event for any of you who weren’t able to make it out this year!

I need to give a gracious nod to Cool Hunting for mentioning the new book by Unorthodox Styles–”Sneakers: The Complete Collectors’ Guide”– it’s absolutely the best sneaker book I have ever seen. It’s organized in an easy to navigate encyclopedia form, with clean design and exquisite pictures of over 180 sneakers that have made an impact on the sneaker culture worldwide.
Best part is it wasn’t a fortune, $20 from Amazon.
