Artist Evah Fan’s portfolio is called “Potatoes Have Toes“, and is really a riot. The artwork and illustration is all very witty, and sometimes quite weird, and dark. A lot of it is food related, and yes, you guessed it, the potato is her favorite character. This one is called ‘whiff of danger’, and is pretty self explanatory. She has been published in art magazines like Flaunt, Tokion, Art Prostitute, Giant Robot, and many others. The work is really quite interesting, check it out!

Sian Matthews, a graduate from The Royal College of art recently took a shot at redesigning the ice cream scoop– this is what he came up with. He created these spoons while training to be a silver smith, and I think they turned out damn well. Each spoon is created by hand, and made to order. He seems like a promising talent in the design world, and recently was awarded the DKNY New Designer Award.

I’m always on the hunt for a good table for my 1’s and 2’s. I’ve had my turntables setup on everything from milk crates to old desks. Lately i’ve been rockin’ on a wireframe shelving unit from Target– it works pretty well, but doesn’t look so hot. Germany’s Metro Farm created a DJ table buit entirelyout of concrete– although not very functional for mixing, it’s a great way to show off your turntable, use for listening purposes, and maybe the occasional scr-cra-cra-tch.
