A special welcome to all the Time Magazine readers visiting my site. If you didn’t see it yet, this weeks Time has a great article on cool hunting and trend spotting in which I’m featured. It’s called “Messengers Of Cool: How new digital networks help hipsters around the globe hunt for the next big thing. ” I was in good company, the article by Jeremy Caplan featured my site along side a few others, like my friend Bill over at The Cool Hunter, and of course Reinier Evers amazing site and excellent resource Trendwatching.com.

Shaving is one of my least favorite things to do, so I rarely shave ‘bare’ to the skin– I prefer a buzzer for the 12 o’clock shadow look. It’s time consuming, and can be uncomfortable–so for the rare occasion I do go for the baby face look, I want to do it right. Shaving is really an ancient art, and should be done with the best of tools. In comes Smart Shave: A system built by Dermatologists for ‘better skin’. Really though, rhetoric aside, I tried the system and was very impressed. It’s a three step process: Exfoliating pads, a non foaming simple shaving cream, and finally a calming balm (which was worth the whole shave). Overall a very nice product!

Our friends over at Core77 have amazing coverage of the Museum of Modern Art’s next design show called Safe: Design Takes On Risk, a show which opened this weekend. The show really does look amazing and I think deserves all the press it has been getting. Some very interesting ‘risk related’ products from a “Clean Call disposable telephone cover” to the “mizu-Q Straw Water Purifier’ by Yasuyuki Yamamoto. Check Core77 out, they have 73 individual images in their gallery of the show.
