Japanese design company Amadana has created some exquisitely simple designs, like this basic telephone. The base is made of natural walnut and acrylic. The receiver is made of soft leather (also available in white with orange accents)– a very nice luxury touch. Along with the sleek and sexy design, the phone comes with Amadana original melodies (which are pretty funny, you can sample on their site). Check out their site for several other Japanese style home electronic accessories. My other favorite is an incredibly gorgeous set of earphones made with bamboo details.

I thnk people all around are going to begin to refer to Karim Rashid as ‘the blob designer’. He takes the organic and natural ‘blobs’ from the universe and brings them into the home with lighting designs like this. The Blob Lighting family has wall, ceiling, table and floor lamps. I was hunting for lights and ran into it, it’s manufactured by Foscarini and for sale on Y Lighting.
