I tried some drinks by Firefly Tonics when I was in London several months ago, and they were really delicious. I was happy to see these products in Whole Foods the other day in the US– looks like they’re getting their American distribution figured out. Firefly Tonics are made by a few expert herbalists with over 25 years experience who’ve teamed up with a couple quirky mixologists. They currently have 5 flavors, and although I haven’t tried all of them based on my first sample, I’d bet they’re all good. I’ve been enjoying Chill Out, a mix of apple juice and black currant. The herbalists did their job and blended in lemon balm, bitter orange, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, and rosemary. Needless to say the drinks are unusual and innovative. The packaging also gets my nod of approval — beautifully executed.

The Bubble Project got some press a few weeks ago, but I never had time to look through the galleries until now. Anyone who has been to New York City lately has seen the hundreds of thought/speech bubbles placed strategically across advertisements all over the city, even on busses (shown). The Bubble Project is a counter attack to all the corporate advertising which is overrunning our communal public spaces– and the bubbles are the ammunition. “More Bubbles mean more freed spaces, more sharing of personal thoughts, more reactions to current events, and most importantly, more imagination and fun.” Check out the site and browse pictures by theme, as well as download a template to place your own bubbles.

Think Free is a sneaker project by Philipe Cuendet, and it’s all about taking the Nike Free to another level. He calls his creations ‘Nike hybridations.’ “A Jordan 5 upgraded with elements of the Jordan 4 mounted on a Nike Free Sole.” It’s being exhibited until the end of December at Colette in Paris– and if you haven’t ever visited the Collette shop, it’s a must see! Phillipe’s projects //DIY and +41 look very intersting– he certainly has a lot of projects in the works!
