Last month Reebok introduced their shot at a customized sneaker system. It’s amazing to me it took them this long to come out with it, but alas it’s here. Believe it or not, I’m actually somewhat impressed. It allows you to customize more than a dozen parts of the sneaker– far more than available on Nike iD. I’m not crazy about the sneakers to begin with, or the mediocre name ‘Rbk Custom’, but it’s definitely a move in the right direction.

The great thing to me about the whole “street art” scene is how it is a truly global phenomenon. Language barriers are virtually non-existant because all communication is made via the art itself. And in that sense it’s always interesting to see how things are being said in other parts of the world. Tembokbomberis a wonderful website run for and by street artists in Indonesia. There you will find everything from photos of street walls, art by Indonesian as well as international talent, and quality interviews of artists that range from well-known American artist Dalek, to local Jakarta-based Morden. Some of the interviews and posts are in Indonesian, but the images provide all the words any art lover would ever need. I’ve invited a few close blogger friends who run some of the most under-rated blogs in the blogosphere to help move this site to the next level. I’m kicking this week off with Scott Kobayashi, of Kobayashi 5. The California native and Berkeley graduate has a keen eye for all unique things in Art, Fashion, Design and Technology. I think everyone will enjoy his finds. Welcome Scott!
