BIG-GAME recently collaborated with +41 creating a new and exclusive collection called “New Rich”. The idea is ‘mass products meet luxury. When gold replaces plastic, well thought and functional objects become exclusive in a subtle way’. The results are really great. A Bic pen with a gold top, Apple headphones with a gold piece, Bic Lighter, Swatch Watch, and of course some extremely hot golden push-pins. Designer Elric Petit said “We’ve picked standard, universal products, and replaced a part of each object by an equivalent in gold…We love the shrewd blend between the down-to-earth functionalism of mass-products and the ultimate precious material: gold”. The wait is almost over for all you toy-fanatics waiting to get a hold of the Brendan Monroe Sour, the quirky sculpture like toy which was unveiled at Comicon back in July. Super online toy store Android 8 is expecting them to arrive shortly. Glen at Android 8 is compiling a reserve list for the green and brown versions– the orange and red will be first come first serve. I don’t listen to the radio much at all unless I forget my nano and I’m forced to scan the static abyss in search of a song while I’m in my car. The whole idea of having a desktop radio seems hopelessly romantic to me because I use my computer for just about everything now– but I love these Scandinavian made Asono DAB1 radios. It’s really an intuitive piece of electronics– it can be rotated and the display orientates itself automatically. There’s also an additional wireless speaker, a mini-USB plug, SD card slot, alarm, and MP3 player capabilities. If you haven’t seen Asono’s ‘Mica‘ MP3 player– check that out too.
