If you’ve been following my site for a while you’re probably familiar with the name Jason Thielke. I discovered the up-and-coming Denver artist last March and since then I’ve been following his progress, which has been remarkable–not to mention awesome to witness firsthand. He left his design job and is doing ‘the art thing’ full time now. Today he stopped by, pulling up his car in front of my office with the back seats and trunk full of new work, like a private traveling art show. This piece, which I’ve dubbed the Sneaker Experiment caught my eye right away, and with my footwear fascination, I knew I had to have it. It’s about 3 or 4 feet wide, much larger and more detailed than it looks in a photo. If you’re interested in a piece from the Sneaker Experiment or anything else just shoot him an email: jason [at] jasonthielke.com

After the overwhelming success of creative-genious and designer Ji Lee’s Bubble Project, it was only a matter of time before he took things virtual. The online version of the Bubble Project allows users to comment on a “Bubbled Person of the Week.” This week is none other than George W. Bush, with a message about my site. As Lee puts it “You no longer have to be the passive recipient of the media’s bombardment. This is your chance to become an active participant by freely expressing yourself through the bubbles and sharing them with the rest of the world – and most importantly, have loads of fun doing it!” I see endless possibilities for this project now that it has moved into the virtual world.

I’ve been slowly testing the entire line of TorchBearer Sauces. They’re each unique–whether you’re using them cooking or dipping, the line is totally diverse. Mild and chunky to piping hot. The #42 Slaughter Sauce is apparently the worlds hottest natural sauce, lab tested and nationally certified at 67,582 Scoville Units. The good news? For the next 10 days (Feb 1-Feb 10th) everything is 50% off. Simply use the code onions during the checkout process to get the discount.

I’m a fan of Dee Adams‘ big abstract art pieces. For a while everything was quite large–until now. She created The Chunk Series for “parents who want to bring modern design and original art to their kids”. I think they’re great and I don’t need kids to find a place for them in my home. If your unfamiliar with Dee’s work, check her out!
