Spunk United is an online-magazine based in Singapore dedicated to supporting the local talent and creative community there, and around the world. They say they’re all about image, but they aren’t the traditional glossy magazine. Infact, their flash site is dynamically beautiful. It’s changed annually (this is version 2.0, for the second year), and is packed full of interesting contributions from artists, designers, journalists, musicians, and writers. It’s a fun and dynamic medium, each new “issue”, as they call it, grows throughout the year as new stories are added and the site is updated. They’re taking submissions from anyone and everyone, and I was pretty blown away with the collection of work they had already. Looking for inspiration or want to share your work? Check them out!

It’s almost spring time which means we will start seeing lots of t-shirts for the warm weather. Invicid dropped some fly new t-shirt designs last week for their Spring/Summer 2006 lineup, all hand screened by Seattle artist and designer Mark Kirkpatrick. This two tone piece is called Bubble Gum Popstar, and you can grab it in their store along with a handful of other great new designs! Other favorites: Spacewalkers and Loveless.

One of our favorite watch makers, Nixon, have really outdone themselves, offering 8 collections this Spring. The All Black, Gold, Wood, High Polish, Orange Bang, Exotic, Tide, and Love Collections incorporate new additions to the Nixon product line up with brilliantly colored classic items, i.e. The Orange Bang Rotolog. Each collection offers features and colors independent of the others, and with so many amazing options to choose from it can be taxing figuring out which one, two, three, to buy. Spring watches at their finest!

I was pleased to finally see an update to one of the funniest t-shirt fashion sites on the net: Durkl. They just launched a new Spring/Summer line with some funky fresh t-shirts. They also added a new section that’s dedicated to rare finds that, as they say, are simply “awesome”– they call it Stylin’. Stylin’, like an extremely rare Spudz Mackenzie Bud Light sweatshirt for $90 or an old school two-tone mickey mouse hoodie at $70, overpriced much? Either way check the new site out, I’ve been wearing my Future Handsome Millionaire shirt with pride for months.

“Conphorm is a product design practice that explores the relationships among material, structure, and space that exist in everyday objects.†They have definitely achieved unity of the three with their new line of felt handbags. Each one lays completely flat and then zips-up to contain all of your belongings in its cocoon-like structure. Both texture and construction lend to the bags unique, organic appearance. The wallet, purse, clutch, and carry are available from Conphorm in grey felt with orange, green, grey, or blue zipper tape.
