Lately, we've really been enjoying the work of German-born, Düsseldorf-based artist Katherina Grosse, who you saw here at JoshSpear.com in her collaboration with Mekanism Skateboards. Her work is of amazing proportions and immerses the viewer “in the paint”. Utilizing a spray gun, Katherina explores and expands spaces with her vibrant color palette rather than defining and objectifying. Her canvases include aluminum, canvas, and paper and range from museums to airport terminals – Pearson International Airport, Toronto shown above, making that layover tolerable. Katherina's site specific installations can be found around the globe from Paris to Houston so keep a lookout and don't miss your chance to experience her ever-expanding collection of work!

The newly launched site knacktion is a place where people can go to showcase and promote their talent, digital media creations, and collaborate with others absolutely free! The site boasts many features including the ability to allow content, especially music, to be licensed by commercial producers. Thus, if a user posts his/her recordings to the site, indie filmmakers, music producers, and anyone desiring to use the creation can purchase a license to use the track(s). The site also includes things an applause-o-meter, allowing users to rate each other and in the future will even allow users to host their own contest, setting entry fee's, prizes, etc. Right now the 10 people who sign up the most new users will take a share in a $2000 prize, so no matter if you're an athlete, musician, writer or designer, head over to the site and flaunt your knacktion!

The news it out! Bong Vodka just launched a gorgeous artist bottles series in collaboration with some of our favorite artists: Jason Thielke, Yosoh, Matthew Curry and Ogi. The limited edition bottles (and boxes) will be available in stores throughout Florida, Texas, New York, Las Vegas and California at the end of August. Check out the Spirit Of The Brand site to learn more about their unique program– they are constantly searching for artists for new bottle designs, boxes, t-shirts and music compilations.

We love data visualization projects, so we were thrilled to see Digg finally joined the party in a partnership with Stamen Design– together they launched their newest site: Digg Labs. “Digg moves very quickly, and has a great many stories submitted every day, so good material can sometimes fly by before you even know it. These interactive visualizations look beneath the surface of the Digg community’s activities.” They offer Digg Swarm which draws circles for stories as they’re dugg and Digg Stack where diggers fall from above and stack up on popular stories.
