Brooklyn-based Leif Parsons is talented, creative, fresh, and has a great sense of humor– and his illustrations and photography reflect his personal attributes. Leif’s creativity led him to create a brand around his own identity– not uncommon these days, but Leif’s creative and humorous and self-reflective identity page is definitely worth a gaze. Leif has been around for a while, proving his work up, and we think the best is yet to come for thoughtful young Parsons.

This is a new and entertaining book called Stingermania by Jan Willem Wennekes, known for his fun and wacky illustrations. Wennekes studied Artificial Intelligence and Philosophy at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and runs his own design studio called Zeptonn. The book contains most of his recent artwork, it’s available for 15 Euros and is 44 pages of full-form graphic goodness.

Our pal at Design*Sponge is really making waves with her shop– a place like no other where 100% of profits go directly to the designers and 10% of the shop’s advertising revenue goes to a charity. This months artists include folks like Camilla Engman with a great looking limited edition print, Esque Design with their signature recycled glass bud vases, and some very slick ‘cheers coasters’ by Sesame Letterpress. Excellent holiday shopping for your design-conscious loved ones.

UnknownWe recently had the occasion to try out some jackets from Hawke & Co., and having never heard of the brand before, I have to admit we were a bit skeptical from the get go. But the truth is that Hawke & Co. makes some nice jackets. They’re warm, functional, simple, and stylish– perfect for around town on days like today (where it is so cold that Josh and I are ordering lunch to be delivered rather than walk a block to the cafe). Hawke & Co. describes itself as a fashion lifestyle brand that focuses on movement, moving forward, youth, soaring spirits, and youthful expression. While I’m not quite willing to buy into all of those buzz words, I would still ‘get my Hawke on’ in an around-town, want to be warm and comfortable setting.

Chuck Anderson has a nice little update to his site No Pattern, including a pretty bad-ass print titled Good Parts of Bad Dreams (left). It’s an 18×24 signed matte print in a limited edition of 300. $25, a small price to pay for original artwork like this! Also check out the wacky table he did for Kinkyform, an advertisement series for Puma (shown on the right), and of course– the No Pattern book is still in stock and for sale.
