Emeric Trahand is a 25-year-young freelance graphic designer from France, and his work is definitely worth a look. Emeric, or Tksh**** (which is his professional name) is an up-and-comer in the design game– he’s only been working intensely with graphic design for about a year. But although he’s a relative rookie, he is super passionate about design and his work shows a lot of promise; with his passion and natural talent, Emeric is sure to become a force to be reckoned with in the coming years. His work can most accurately be described as an ‘urban decay graphic style,’ and I think it has a very aesthetically pleasing — not to mention marketable — quality to it. Also be sure to check out some of Emeric’s newest work in the premier, Volume 1 edition of the new art and design lounge DesignDiary. More of Emeric’s design work after the jump…

Treleela, a total-experience tea, is a take-anywhere treat. This boutique tea line by Ineeka integrates innovative design, responsible philosophies and superior flavor into one cool package. These aren’t you grandma’s tea bags– the Treleela Pochettes are made to replicate the experience of a traditional good brew. Simply tear where the arrows tell you to, attach the wings on each side of your favorite mug, and pour hot water over the opening. The flavors and aroma will amaze you and inspire you, like Treleela Visionary, a green-chai, did for us. Cultivated on Ineeka’s own family farms, these 100% organic whole leaf teas are produced by an industry pioneer of environmental and social responsibility standards. Treleela is truly a feel-good experience, making your taste-buds and your conscious happy. Treleela will be available at the Hello Delicious Store when it launches on January 18th.

International prankster, super-star artist, and borderline Bond-esque graffiti writer Banksy recently opened up his online shop, a unique place where everything is free. He provides small, medium, and large versions of his most popular images– encouraging users to download, print or use them as their desktop backgrounds. He also shares some insight, saying prints look best when done on gloss paper using your company’s printer ink while everyone else is at lunch. All he asks is to please not use these images to launch your own poster or t-shirt company– fair enough I guess.

For all of you pedal heads out there– Alchemy Goods in Seattle has been ‘turning useless into useful’ with their new bag lineup. Made from used tire inner tubes, seat belts, and other various recycled materials, Alchemy’s Messenger Bag and Haversack surprised me with the level of style they’ve attained given the materials they’re made of. On the upper right hand corner of the ‘AG’ logo, you’ll find a small number with big significance: this number denotes the percent, by weight, of the recycled materials used to make your individual bag. I also got a kick out of some of the accessories Alchemy makes, including Schrader tire valve zipper pulls and the ‘Bottle ReOpener,’ which is made with used seat belt clasps. The term Alchemy refers to the medieval science of turning lead into gold; in a broader sense, it signifies turning something of lesser value into something of greater value. Alchemy Goods finds its value in environmental sustainability, and I like that.

While I am freezing my ass off in CO this week, artist Warren Schultheis is most likely freezing his ass off in either his studio or in the Pacific Ocean in Santa Barbara, California. Warren apparently has a thing for modern and minimalist furniture, so I think we’d get along well. It also appears as though Warren is a talented artist. I had the chance to check out his website this morning, and it gave me a good sampling of his work. Maybe it’s the lawyer in me, but my favorite piece of his is a 2003 work entitled ‘Order Seeps Inward,’ for which I had to do a little digging to find. If you want to know more about Mr. Schultheis, and stay up to date with his current works, you can read his blog, or paddle out into the lineup off the coast of Santa Barbara and ask him in person.
