Even though I have a hard time imagining Andy Warhol drop into a half-pipe, I’m a huge fan of all the Warhol fashion collaborations we’ve seen coming out over the past few months. The latest in the Warhol-celebration-epedemic is the 2008 line from Burton, no cows, Marilyn Monroe or cans of tomato soup here– polka-dotted pants and jacket have inner lining that read “In the future everyone will be world famous for fifteen minutes.” Via Yo Diary

A great find when it comes to simple ingredients, incomparable taste and a product with personality is CMB Sweets. CMB Sweets is all natural, all Californian and is “made with nothing but fruit (organic as often as possible), sugar, lemon juice and spice.” One of the best things about CMB Sweets, beyond the amazing fusion of flavors is that Carolina (The C, M, and B of CMB Sweets), adds a lot of her personality that we adore so much to her products. She takes a sharpie to the fruit to add graphic fun, adds a creative touch with naming and product descriptions, and well…the flavors happen to be out of this world. My favorite is red juicy blood orange marmalade; dubbed as “true Transylvanian gourmet” since I've always been a sucker for anything with blood oranges. We do have to give a standing ovation for CMB Sweet's new release, kiwi-lime-ginger preserves for mastering great flavor that is a perfect accompaniment with just about anything.

Reminiscent of the Fully Loaded Chair we saw back in February of last year (the chair made from more than 450 .12 guage shotgun shells)– The Tennis Ball Chair is constructed with a chromed steel frame, the original cushions were replaced with laser-cut quarter-inch thick oak veneer plywood. Twenty-five tennis balls were carefully fit inside the two layers and trapped in place. No word on comfort, but it sure is a nice conversation piece. As far as I can tell this puppy is a one of a kind and available through Etsy.

I grew up admiring the skill (and cojones) of mostly U.S.-based skateboarders, but kids these days have the privilege of idolizing skateboarders from all over the world– talk about a sport that has really taken off from a popularity standpoint. As I quickly learned from watching Alai Skateboards‘ new video Alaiolé — which is available for download on their website — Spain is among the European countries with top skateboard talent. Alai Skateboards not only represents the prolific talent of Spain’s skate scene, but they are also on the ball from a artistic standpoint. Based in Barcelona and Bilbao, Alai has made some collaborations with some of the most talented urban artists in España– their new ‘big bang‘ series and their limited edition artist series are definitely worth a look.
