Our friend Scott Hansen of ISO 50 just released two beautiful new prints: Vuela on the left and Past is Prologue on the right. They’re both printed on a hefty 100lb natural tone stock made in USA– gorgeous! Scott also has a show coming up on the 27th in LA for his music– check out his very good tunes at Tycho Music (Multi-talented guy eh?). And be sure to stop by his online shop to purchase prints, t-shirts, etc.

TeslaJosh and I have been googly eyed over the TESLA Roadster for some time now (I think Josh sat by it during the entire TED Conference last week, and maybe even tried to hold hands with it), but we never knew we could expect to see these all-electric, gorgeous cars on the street in merely a few months. Word is, starting this coming Fall, you’ll be able to walk into one of five dealerships– NYC, Chicago, Florida, Nor Cal, and So Cal– and drive out with a TESLA. Who killed the electric car? Not TESLA! Mucho props to TESLA for making an all-electric, stunning car a production reality. Now let’s see who follows suit…

If you missed out on last weekend’s toy unveilings in L.A., there’s still one more chance to get your hands on some fresh vinyl, this time in the shape of “The Lost Angel,” a 1313 count limited edition doll designed by world famous tattoo artist Mister Cartoon. This collaboration with Soul Assassins and Super Rad Toys marks Mister Cartoon’s first venture into toy design, and the resulting piece will be available for sale and signing this Sunday at Meltdown Comics (again in L.A.). It’s hard to see the detail on this small picture, but the tattoo work on this little guy is amazingly intricate. I’d imagine that Mister Cartoon brings quite a cult following wherever he goes, so if you want in on the action, head over to Sunset Blvd. at 4 p.m. to buy, or 5 p.m. to meet the artist. If you want to know more about Mister Cartoon, I urge you to listen to this interview he did for Weekly Drop.

Photographers in Zach Cordner’s line of work sometimes fly under the radar because their work, as prolific as it may be, is frequently published in magazines, where readers aren’t keyed into who’s responsible for the shot until they search for that itsy bitsy byline tucked in the corner. When a photog as talented as Zach puts their work in one place for easy viewing, it gives us a better feel for their point-and-click prowess. We were lucky enough to pick Zach out of the pack relatively early, and are proud to have him on the Spear Collective roster. He just revamped his website so that now when you go there the first thing you see are his newest endeavors on his news page. From there you can his books, projects, tearsheets and info page (look at the clients he’s worked with!). Coincidentally, Mr. Cordner’s calendar image for April, the infamous “monkey boy” is next up on the Spear Collective Calendar line-up. You have to go check it out– this photo’s so good, that Josh and I had it as our desktop backgrounds for at least 2 months when he first submitted it. Keep it up Zach; you make us proud.

In January, when it was announced, I let you know about Start Soma’s Propaganda III World Tour. If you remember, the focus of the tour is not to sell art, but rather to celebrate free speech and freedom of expression. The format of this tour makes it a true exercise in global, peer-to-peer, open source political art showcasing. The San Francisco Gallery will be opening on (fittingly) July 4th, and will be touring the world thereafter. For those interested, you can find poster submission guidelines here. As they receive submissions, they’re putting them into a Flikr gallery and making them available for download onto your mo-bile– there are already some great political designs and messages. And for you galleries and venues out there that might be interested in hosting an opening, email John Doffing (john@startsoma.com)– the only requirement is that you host a one day opening, and that you pay to have the posters shipped to the next venue. Small price to pay to be part of the world’s first truly global, peer-to-peer, open source art show!

This morning I had a chance to try the Gentlemens Refinery line of skincare products, and it sure didn’t disappoint. Although I felt like a bit of a metrosexual going through a regimen of the shave cream, after shave balm, moisturizer, and finally, the eye gel, I left the house feeling like a million bucks. The moisturizer and eye gel are made with hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring compound that is the reason for the moisture and elasticity of your skin. All of their products are paraben and alcohol free, all natural, and made with organic ingredients when possible; you don’t have to look any further then the packaging to see that they’re not cheap, but your face needs all the help it can get. Details for Men has them all in stock and ready to ship.
