While George W. Bush may have infamously dubbed himself “the decider”, you probably shouldn't leave it up to the current President to make the choices that shape your life or to a lesser extent, your day. After all, he's pretty busy and he hasn't really proven a wiz at this deciding stuff anyway. Luckily, watch designer Crispin Jones of Mr. Jones Watches has come up with the perfect tool to eliminate your indecisiveness and put the decision making back in your hands…or if not your hands, the little and big hands on one of his three new limited edition timepieces. The Decider model watch alternates between displaying the words “yes” or “no” with each passing second providing you with an answer to that crucial decision depending on what it reads at the moment you take a gander at the time.

Jones' two other most current creations are equally inventive. The Accurate provides a morbid reminder that you will not be on this planet forever, while The Mantra constantly displays messages of positive reinforcement throughout your day. On thing's for sure, whichever one you choose, you'll always know what time it is.

Our boy Chuck Anderson just updated his site, No Pattern, with twelve new additions to his already burly print collection. Like his older pieces, these newbies represent more of Chuck’s incredible light-saturated, brightly surreal work, and we think they’re way better than anything Thomas Kinkade ever laid hands on. Be sure to check out ‘Futureriches,’ a collaboration with Nigel Dennis of ElectricHeat, and the Drawn Series, a collection of — you guessed it — prints that started out as Chuck’s drawings. Brilliant!

Dear Nameless Caffeine Addict,

I see you every morning at the local java joint, filling up on fuel before your workday begins, and just like you, I feel that if I were to break this cycle, my life might come to some hurried, apocalyptic end. The heap of paper or styrofoam cups, wide-mouthed syringes previously full of liquid promising to deliver happiness, has been mounting because of our need to put our morning crankiness at bay. I know you feel as bad about it as I do. As a gift, I’ve enclosed in the accompanying package the I Am Not A Paper Cup, a double-walled porcelain beauty with silicone lid that you can use on your next coffee run. You can even run it through the dishwasher alongside your lucky “Instant Human: Just Add Coffee” mug. Have fun with it and know I’ll be right there behind you in line with my own I Am Not A Paper Cup ready for filling. Really, we should be able to enjoy our vice with a better conscience.

Sincerely,

Fellow Nameless Caffeine Addict

P.S. Shall we try to switch to tea? Green tea apparently has the ability to give a big wallop too.

Boarders and bikers alike are rightfully drawn to designs by the inspired master shoesmiths at DC Shoes. While the company specializes in footwear for the extreme sports set, they're also known for enlisting some of the world's most fertile minds to collaborate on their creations, turning canvas sneakers into canvas works of art. In certain cases it's not always advisable to wear your art where you might get it dirty, so the good folks at the Subtext store in San Diego have decided to make an exhibit out of some of their favorite custom designed footgear. The Kicks exhibition, presented by Subtext and DC Shoes, kicks off on January 25th and features super sweet shoe designs from some of our favorite artist pals like Colby Nichols and Josh Kenyon, amongst many others. So if you're in the San Diego between January 25th and February 7th feel free to check it out as Subtext will be donating 25% of the gallery commissions to the Red Cross to help the families who were affected by the recent Southern California wildfires.

I’ve snuck into the JP Morgan Chase lounge for some snacks, quiet internet time, email checking, twittering, blogging and the like with pal and green crusader (and trouble maker) David de Rothschild from Adventure Ecology. If you don’t know what he’s up to, check it out.

I sat in on an interesting panel called the Sustainable Consumer with a bunch of people, most notably Richard Edelman (interesting to see his top google hit is his apology for a fake Pro Walmart blog his company launched) , and Jeffrey Swartz (CEO of Timberland). Incredibly interesting to hear the passion of folks like this who want to put sustainability at the forefront of communication. One thing that came out of the panel for me was the importance of developing ’standards’ for what eco, green, sustainable and so on, really actually mean. What does saving 1 Kilowatt of energy look like? How about 2 tons of carbon. There’s a long way to go though on all levels. Back to the sessions, follow me on Twitter.

After several hours of planes, trains, and automobiles I arrived late last night into the snowed in über famous town of Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum. Boy is it gorgeous and hectic here. The air is cold, security is tight, bullet proof Mercedes are plentiful, and the opening parties so far, quite good. I’m kicking off my day today bright and early with a CNBC debate entitled “Who’s in Charge?” moderated by Maria Baritromo with panelists like Ibrahim Dabdoub, the CEO of the National Bank of Kuwait, Nandan M Nilekani from Infosys, and the famed (and apparently very nice) George Soros, who just walked past me as I write this!
I’ll be doing my best to live blog throughout the day, but in the mean time feel free to follow me on Twitter. Note to self, Swiss outlets are not European outlets. Must find charger asap!
