I've never been a huge fan of those earbud headphones that stick right in your auditory canal and wrap around your cochlea. They go a long way towards speeding up your imminent loss of hearing long before you're old enough to be senile and they don't even keep your lobes warm. However, with Von Zipper's Snow Muffs Head Phones you can keep on rockin' in the freezing world while your auditory instruments remain snug as a bug in a rug. These fuzzy sound systems fit on just about any pair of ski goggles, so you can hit the slopes and slalom to the smoothest sounds around.

I’ve been a massive fan of dVider for a while now — we spent some quality time at ICFF last year and I always check in to see what is new in the world of non-committal wall decor. Their endless parade of vinyl goodness continues with the dVider Guest Artist Series, this quarter featuring Brooklyn wallpaper goddess Jill Malek. Drawing inspiration from organic, repetitive pattern in nature, Jill’s decals are available at the dVider store through April 30th. There’s never been a better time to remedy your white-wall syndrome than now.

I’ve been making an effort of late to carry around less junk with me. Anyone who knows me knows that wherever I am, there’s a giant purse or laptop bag — sometimes both — and I’m at the point where I’m realizing that it’s not only unnecessary, but bad for my back and making it even to harder to walk in heels. The simple fact is, I don’t even use half of the crap I carry around day in, day out. Enter Toffee — an Aussie company offering pebble-grain leather sleeves, briefcases and slings (black and brown are pictured above) to protect your precious Apple cargo. The sleeves run the color gamut, while the slings and briefs stick with a basic palette; whichever you decide on, however, you’re sure to turn some heads and cut back on the excess junk you lug around. Score.

Attention all fans of art in greater Los Angeles area: Overgrowth at GR2 runs from February 16th to March 12th, and it’s sure to be a doozy. The exhibit features both the solo and collaborative works of Katherine Guillen, Zachary Rossman, and Brian Rush. The three artists worked in concert on twenty mixed media compositions, each 4'' by 6'' in size, allowing each other's work to be engulfed by that of their collaborators in efforts to create stunning works that are truly a coming together of artistic minds. Their solo stuff ain't so bad either as Guillen's uses gouache paintings and prints to “explore the explore the tenuous relationship between urban and natural environments” while Rossman's collection of gouache and graphite drawings delves into the themes of “decay, isolation, and supernatural occurrences.” The pieces Rush has up his sleeve are a collection of “paintings, medium-sized mixed-media pieces, and sculptures” depicting “whimsy as a divider between ‘facts' and creativity.” So get there while the gettin's hot…or for the opening reception on February 16th.
