Managing talent is big business that keeps getting more specialized the more creative people get. Some say it’s not possible to push your name to the top level without an agency to back you up, and the more niche, the better. Here in Brazil, where graffiti artists know their worldwide value’s gaining as quickly as the dollar is falling, applying this type of management philosophy to this new elite is a darn good idea. William Baglione’s done it with his Baglione Criacoes, a pure testament to his business skill. Baglione’s “Famiglia” has some of the most sought-after names in Brazilian street art, like Sesper, Pato, Flip, Flavio Samelo, Thais Beltrame, Tinho and his brother (Upper Playground collaborator and internationally famed artist) Herbert Baglione. Much like a fan club in which he’s the president, William’s blog keeps tabs on the constant exhibits and work updates from his clients. But his work is altogether different in that he really goes the length to support the artists. For example, Baglione TV is a series of short behind-the-scene documentaries he organized to profile each artist and his/her creative process. William’s also curated art shows, so he knows his industry from the inside out. Overall, this is the type of dedication you can only get from an artist to his work, but William is fully aware of the dividing line so that he can help make his clients money and fame. Really, we all need a William Baglione in our lives.

The table is as much a metaphor for sharing, as it is a place where people actually get together and share everything from food to complex ideas. Teroforma, the about-to-be-launched brand of post-luxury tableware begs the question, why shouldn't what's on your table be a reflection of what you're doing at the table? As a result, the brand founded by Andrew and Anna Hellman brought together the world's finest master artisans with a brand new generation of designers to share ideas on how to revive plain ol' tableware to give it a certain freshness of design and yet still remain thoughtful and luxurious. Believing that “understanding the story of the creative process behind an object means appreciating what you hold in your hands even more” they eschewed the traditional in-house approach to tableware design, instead opting for an “international network of eighteen designers and artisans from twelve different countries, to collaborate on Teroforma’s debut product range.” The result is an absolutely stunning and practical collection of items ranging from tumblers to linens.

Most people think the name ADIDAS is merely an acronym for dreaming about something that starts with an ‘S’ all day. However, there is a bigger story behind those famous three stripes and that story began with the dreams of founder, Adi Dassler. Dassler's tale is told in the first of a series of spellbinding clay-mation web films that as part of the brand's Celebrate Originality campaign, examine both the founder's spirit and one-of-a-kind operation, as well as his contributions to both sport and culture. The clip also explores the brand's multiple personalities that have, as oxymoronic as it sounds, taken on a life of their own in helping many persons establish individual identities. Check it out.

We’ve been Jawbone fans since the beginning, even back in 2004 when the first non-bluetooth version launched. Creating the “best bluetooth headset ever” and “sexiest way to talk” wasn’t enough for Yves Behar, so he had to go on and create a line of ridiculously sexy limited edition headsets shown above — we approve. Gold is for sweet talk, black is for dirty talk, white is for trash talk.
They were made in a *very* limited quantity, so these will no doubt dry up quickly (and you can’t buy them anywhere). Good thing I secured a set of them here at TED to give away to you, my fellow readers, right?
But I’m not going to let go of them easily, here are the rules:
The best sweet talk to me gets the gold adorned sweet talk headset, dirty talk, gets the sexy black dirty talk version, and trash talk (talk trash) gets the coveted shiny white trash talk version. Leave your dirty, sexy, and trash talk in the comments for me, and have fun. (FYI: comments below may be a liiiiitle NSFW. Just a heads up.)

There are a lot of things we take for granted in an industrialized nation: a roof over every head, a chicken in every pot, and a macchiato in every post-consumer recycled paper cup. According to UNICEF, there are 1.1 billion people in this world without access to the most basic necessity: water. From March 16th through 22nd, restaurants participating in the Tap Project 2008 will ask their patrons to donate a minimum of $1 for the tap water they normal get gratis. Your buck will buy 40 children a day of clean drinking water. So, don’t bother with bottled water next month, save your Starbucks bucks, and go out for a generous cup of agua fria.
