I was at a small boutique shop a few months ago, and I came across a shelf full of the coolest stuffed animals I had ever seen. These amazing little creatures are called Les Deglingos . The French company uses fabrics with multiple textures, vibrant colors and quirky patterns to create a truly unique quality toy. The wolf is my favorite – in fact, I actually had my girlfriend buy it for me for my birthday. Any one of these would make a great gift for any kid or kid-at-heart.

Let’s pretend we had kids and a backyard.  Now, how about a nice afternoon project of building a playhouse? And not just any playhouse, let’s do a LEED certified playhouse built entirely out of recycled materials and it includes solar panels on the roof. Screw the kid — we want that playhouse. This is the type of installation that comes out of the 3form Three for Three installation project. The yearly contest is underway and some really amazing submissions are starting to pop up. The contest focuses on high level design in both commercial and residential products that feature low environmental impact materials. Obviously 3form, being a supplier of such materials, have a stake in people building such things. The Three for Three contest ends December 5th and winners announced in early January. Take a look at the entries and vote for your favorite commercial and residential designs. We’ve listed a few of our favorites after the jump. Not that we’re telling you who to vote for.

Most household pets are simple animals who fancy the occasional treat and a ferocious belly rubbing every few hours, but who’s to say they can’t have an appreciation for excellent, eco-friendly design work. These Creatures, a new Seattle-based design studio featuring the talents of Frank Mansfield and Dez Stone Menendez, put their focus on creating sustainable stainless steel pet products for your modern canine or feline. The company’s line of breed-specific and kitty-friendly hanging feeders are envisioned and manufactured under one roof as to cut down on the amount of material waste, helping make for a better environment for you and your favorite domesticated darling.

Sure, you could waste your time making sure your belt matches your shoes. But it's 2008, and now it's time to make sure your headphones match your cell.

Following up on their hit limited edition Nokia WeSC 3250 phone in 2006, Swedish style gurus WeSC have again teamed up with Nokia for the launch of the new XpressMusic 5220 and 5320 phones. In a new “sound and color-coordinated collaboration”, WeSC has created headphones available in three colorways: metallic green, red, and blue. Their website goes beyond the traditional technical specs pitch into the science of color and sound, explaining that “broken down to its smallest component, the hue of a specific color is the result of its unique electromagnetic radiation – a frequency, or basically a rhythm. Sound is equally dependent on wave formations. The equivalent alphabet is the pitch of a sound, which in turn is its specific frequency.”

Long story short, music will sound way better if your headphones are the same color as your phone. Who knew? And here we thought you'd just look hot rocking metallic blue headphones.

This exclusive series is only being sold in select mobile stores and at WeSC concept stores in Scandinavia. Adding to the exclusivity factor, the headphones are only available with the purchase of one of the new Nokia XpressMusic phones and won't be sold separately. So, if anyone is hanging around Sweden right now, be sure to pick us up a pair.

It’s cold! Those mildly chilly days you thought were going to turn into a beautiful extended fall are gone. So instead of trying to argue with Nature to bring back highs in the upper 50s, we may as bust out the Snowball Blaster. This icy supersoaker … this tasty freeze cannon … this rain of hail-fire is the one toy weapon we were without growing up. Sure you had your Wham-O water bazookas and Nerf incendiary grenades, but when it came to packing snow, it was a barehanded guerrilla affair. But now we’ve seen the light. Those middle school kids down the block think they’re so tough — we’ll see how tough they are with a flurry of snowballs to the ear.
