Royal Mail has unleashed British Design Classics, a series of 10 stamps commemorating several very special creations that the Britons have given to the world. The tribute not only covers obvious innovations like the Routemaster double decker bus (which most certainly led to the sandwich) and the K2 Telephone Kiosk, but it also tackles a few less iconic items such as Polypropylene chair. So give those limey bastards the credit they deserve and gaze in awe at the pure ingenuity of the Queen’s loyal subjects…or you can just send someone a letter.

Wow. One of our favorite indie art publishers Rojo (as in Rojo Magazine, yo) just released a hot lil’ set of posters for 200 first-comers. The 10 posters from MWM, Bruno 9li, Neasden Control Centre, Evgeny Kiselev, Catalina Estrada, Dalek, Sergei Sviatchenko, Wagner Pinto, Alexander Egger, Veljko Onjin are all unreleased works. Which means if you hit a financial slump one day, these could save your bank account because they’re surely collectors’ items. The set runs $170 and each measures 59 x 21 inches.

It’s clearly America week, so you can be darn proud of it (again) wherever you are in the world. Sao Paulo’s Choque Cultural kicked off an incredible Americana exhibit this weekend featuring some precious legendary names through their ever-growing partnership with Jonathan Levine Gallery: Tara McPherson, Jim Houser, Doze Green and Adam Wallacavage. McPherson made over 10 new works just for the show, Doze Green and Houser created spectacular installations, and Wallacavage perfectly incorporated his surreal octopus chandeliers into the spot’s basement “aquarium.” The opening ended with a party that went on past 4 a.m. at the gallery office’s new digs and was filled with people mixing English and Portuguese into their conversations; both sides feeling truly elated in sharing a cross-cultural moment. Check the gallery’s website to see all the works on display.

Remember Superflex? The Danish art group that came up with the free beer concept? Well get ready for some more self-descriptive titles for their two new projects. Flooded McDonald’s and Burning Car are two films they’ve created for South London Gallery. The recently opened exhibition will show two films a film where a McDonald’s was recreated down to every detail and flooded it. When we first read this we laughed out loud. Only one photo has been released thus far from the film, but their recreated McDonald’s looks incredibly accurate and ridiculously wet. The second film, Burning Car is … well … a car burning. The video has been released in a low-fi youtube version here.
