The Kaws bike just got some unlikely company by way of the original spud boys, DEVO. Created and donated by Michael Hammond of Trek Bicycles, this fixed gear bike is a piece of rolling artwork, complete with DEVO lyrics integrated into the custom paint. Per devobikeauction.com: “You might not be able to eliminate all the ninnies and the Twits but they won’t be able to keep up with you on your very own one of a kind custom-built Devo Bike. So go beyond the normal thing, do the super thing. Bid to help fight cancer and bid to claim this devo-lutionary machine.” The auction has been underway for a week and ends today. 100% of the proceeds from the auction go to Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong Cancer Foundation. While Steven Soderbergh's film Che has gotten mixed reviews on the festival circuit, there's one piece of media, Che: A Graphic Biography, that provides an indisputably great snapshot of the Argentinian Marxist revolutionary's life and death. Created by longtime cartoonist Spain Rodriguez — one of the original members of Zap Comics with Robert Crumb — the illustrated life of Ernesto “Che” Guevara is lovingly told in the tradition of underground political comics. You'll find details on parts of his life you've heard about (Latin American motorcycle adventures, leadership in Fidel Castro's revolutionary movement) and many you haven't (severe bouts of asthma, extensive African travels).

All chairs are not created equal. Especially not if you’re short. So we give props to Alice Wang. The brilliant mind that thought of a friend-calling alarm clock brings us her ingenious line of conceptual chairs for the dysfunctional.

Beyond her Equality Seeker (pictured), a chair with adjustable legs that allows everyone to sit an an equal height of 140cm, there’s also a seat for fidgeters that will record the calories they burn as they just…can’t…sit…still. But, our favorite? The Silent Farter. For those who like to stink up the room and get away with it, this tattletale chair amplifies your gaseous problems to the rest of your dinner company so you can’t blame the dog. Which is really quite unfair to the canine.

If you’re seeking solace from news about bailouts and our tanking economy, look no further than the Recess Sessions. The project by the Morgans Hotel Group “seeks to capture the creative spirit and collaboration that drives independent musicians and filmmakers.” It shows artists performing on-site at Morgans properties in New York, London and L.A. Director Vincent Moon’s video of Brazilian singer/guitarist Curumin (and Au Revoir Simone) is calming and light, whereas Mark Wilkinson’s take on rockers Semi Precious Weapons at the Hudson is more raucous. Footage of Miho Hatori and Miss Derringer is said to be coming soon — as are user submissions, of course.
