Who ever thought something rolling on 30-inch bicycle wheels could look so good? Mercedes Benz has unveiled its F-Cell Roadster (the F stands for fuel, and yes, it’s a hybrid), an unconventionally attractive ride incorporating every era of the seasoned carmaker’s pioneering design style. The F-Cell embodies the company’s innovative technology with the simplicity of the first epoch of automobiles. While it may top out at 25 km per hour, it’s the progressive concept of this prototype that counts.

Toys are fun, but robots rock. Daft Punk Be@rbricks go! French wonder shop Colette just released this set of the Daft Punk duo in Be@rbrick form and they are amazing. I can't wait to see someone put these two in a lego pyramid, throw in some LEDs and recreate the alive concert. Instant Youtube classic! Even with a $183.13 price tag, these are going to go fast. In slightly related news, Daft Punk is doing the score for Tron 2. Whoa.

The DMC Championship has seen the world’s finest turntablists cut and mix their way to the top of the game, but only once was this honor taken by a 15-year-old kid. It was 12 years ago that DJ A-Trak’s muderous fingers led him to become the youngest punk-ass to win, jumpstarting his career, which now finds him on tour with Kanye West. The release of his new mix Infinity +1 follows a series of performaces across the U.S. and Europe, including half a dozen sets at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. This is a lot less chopped masterpiece and plenty more club mix, with tracks from Spinna, Mehdi, and current love interest Kid Sister, among others. Thankfully, this is not a slapshod mixtape, but rather an actual continuous mix. Remember those?

At the far end of a catalogue that has, thus far, spanned nearly two decades and countless iterations mainstream music, the darkness is still present for PJ Harvey. Her new album, a collaboration with songwriter/producer John Parish, has the same sad tinge we remember fondly from ‘Down by the Water’ but with more complex composition on each track (all music written by Parish). Harvey’s lyrics are unconventional in the same way they were in years past, untarnished by the bastardization of rock that has spared almost no influence once original. A Woman A Man Walked By is out today.

The San Francisco Ballet is facing many of the same issues confronting cultural and arts organizations all over the country: aging audiences, global recession, pricey tickets. To counter act these trends, they introduced some great programs to build community interest. The Fridays at the Ballet evening performances are aimed at young professionals and the Nite Out series is for members of the LGBT community. They start with pre-show talks with choreographers and company members and close with cocktails at the War Memorial Opera House. The evening’s presentation of three brief works ensure that even if you don't love one of the pieces, you and your friends are bound to find something that makes you want to do fouettés on your way home. Next Friday will be no exception with Jerome Robbins’s West Side Story Suite and Christopher Wheeldon’s Within the Golden Hour, one of the hits presented for the Ballet’s 75th anniversary. Looks like everything old is new again.
