We've all been there. A good night out, a drink or five, some break downs in judgment, and then the inevitable drunk-texting begins. The convenience of technology and the loss of your normal social filter can quickly lead to disastrous text messages. The full, ego-crushing, game-killing embarrassment will only become totally clear when you wake up the next day…
Now there's a site to document all these moments of textual genius. Combining the brevity of Twitter, the fails of Fail Blog, and the “I'm glad that wasn't me†scenarios of F My Life, Texts From Last Night is simple. Read, scroll, and enjoy. If you've got some text gold of your own, you can add it to the site. With gems like “I cant find my shoes, my wallet, or my keys, but I know where your sister is†and “Trimmed my pubes and broke your paper shredder. Separate events.â€, the awesomeness pretty much speaks for itself.
Building a rapidly growing Twitter following and with over 20,000 Facebook fans in just a few months, again the ease and brilliance of user-submitted content makes another big time online hit. People like to know what other people think and humiliation is universal. Wrap it up in text-length portions and share online and you've got pure gold. It's only a matter of time until the first “Texts From Last Night†book shows up on coffee tables.

On my last night in Vancouver I had the opportunity (really, the pleasure) to stay at The Opus Hotel, located in the up-and-coming Yaletown district. I’ve stayed at hundreds of boutique hotels around the world and was really quite surprised with how well this property was put together and run.
The building itself is very well done and features 96 luxury guest rooms inside– each with all the top details and modern amusements you would come to expect. iPod docks, a great mini-bar (even with some oxygen if you’re feeling tired), comfortable modern furnishings, soaker tub in the bathroom, etc. And most importantly, a great bed! My room had a small but nice balcony that let in some fresh Canadian air.
Rooms are designed around five unique themes from modern and minimalist to daring and dramatic– with really everything in between. Each room corresponds with one of the personas from within their Lifestyle Concierge– a really great idea that gives you recommendations for your visit tailored to your personality and mood. The idea is fairly simple– 7 different personas that just about everyone can identify with. Into arts and culture and want to see what the city has to offer in those realms, check out Susan’s recommendations. Want to go off the beaten path? Billy’s the man, and so on.  Good for food, shopping, entertainment and so on.
I would definately give them a nod for an up and comer in the area, and a brand to keep your eyes on in the future. They’re even on Twitter!

We gave you a head’s up in March that Tara McPherson’s Gamma Mutant Space Friends mini-figures were en route, and they’ve arrived at Kidrobot and other designer toy store worldwide. But let’s say you’re a connoisseur of limited edition art, and you’re in a position to scoff at the tiny $7.95 production figures. Well, you’re in luck: Tara created a handful of ultra-exclusive resin and aluminum sculptures for Kidrobot Customs. The three 2-foot Mr. Wiggles sculptures are priced at $2,500 each. And Tara made just one colorway each of the three $12,000 3-foot Skullflowers. Kidrobot suggests calling to check availability before placing your order.

We’ve been digging on info-graphs for a while, it’s our preferred method of learning. Intuitiongames is hosting an info-graph game titled “effing hail” explaining the weather through destruction. For those of you that don’t know how hail is formed, basically small water droplets get caught in a whirl wind deep inside a freezing thunder cloud. The longer they get blown around the more water collects to freeze and thus larger hail. Wouldn’t you prefer an info-graph to that explanation?
The premise of the game is to keep the small pieces of hail in the sky so its get bigger and bigger. Once they get to a certain size the small gust of wind you control can direct your moster ice rock to crash into a skyscraper or a plane. Damage is the goal. I got to the level where you had to take out some satellites. I couldn’t do it, maybe you can. It’s Friday, let’s play games!

Our friend from Texas, Matthew Williamson (Earph Exbihtions), just dropped some new prints on us. By ‘new’ I mean space, future time, secrets of the universe new. We had our eye on Williamson before, and we’re totally loving these new prints. His new work definitely takes on a new age sci-fi feeling. Maybe it’s the pending Star Trek movie, but we’re digging it. Four new prints are available in various sizes, as well as a few of his older prints are still in stock. Have a look through some of his past Japanese inspired plant-life and patters. Keep up the good work Matthew, we’ll be watching.
