Today I have the true pleasure of publicly introducing a project I’ve been working on behind closed doors for several months: Spear Collective. Over the past several years in my blogging life I’ve become quite a fan of a handful of up-and-coming artists and designers. In my day to day consulting work I kept finding places to drop their names and, naturally, find them work. Before long clients of all types were coming to me to inquire about good artists to use for packaging, murals, and even for actual brand identity and advertising work. The logical next step for me was to “assemble” them in one place so clients could see my ‘picks’ for up-and-comers in the design world. What started as a simple list evolved into more, and not long ago when Jamie joined the team with his legal prowess, the idea for an artist management collective was born. Before the final list was complete, inquires from brands and agencies started coming in.

Put simply, I invited this group of creative minds to be a part of something I find to be very special. Our aim is to curate art and design in a more sustainable and honest way within brands– not just as advertising, but as true reflections of what a brand means through our artists’ eyes. If you’re interested in chatting with us about potential opportunities for shows, artist-series products, etc, drop us a line. Check the site out, feel free to browse around and send comments our way. You’ll see lots of familiar faces in the collective, as all are artists we wrote about and became very familiar with over the years. Also, keep your eyes peeled for Spear Collective goodies coming soon. Many thanks to all the artists and everyone involved!

Congrats Josh and everyone involved, heavy heavy talent in there. I was wondering how long it would take for his to become official as I was sure there was some behind doors recommending and job offerings happening with that much talent involved. I have noticed however, that it appears that every single listing of talent in your Spear Collective is 2D graphics based artists, whether it be print, web or motion. What about the product designers? You should think about including top notch industrial and product designers in your list also. no product, no where for your Collective to put their graphics, just a thought.
