Eat The Sun is an incredibly well shot, totally bizarre movie about a group of people around the country that stare at the sun and claim to not need to eat– among other physical and spiritual benefits. Watch the preview and judge for yourself. I enjoyed the cinematography and music– but I’m still not quite sure about the content. Bizarre but fascinating work by Sorcher Films.

The filmmakers do not recommend or endorse the views and practices concerning sungazing and fasting portrayed in this film. Anyone contemplating such behavior should seek the advice of a competent medical professional.

I have no words.

Beautifully shot, as you say. I’d love to see the full version.

But I’m aghast that seemingly calm, rational people can so disbelieve modern medical wisdom. And that wisdom agrees, en masse, that directly looking at the sun when it’s high in the sky, *even just the once*, can permanently mess your vision up. Focusing the light of a magnifying glass on a spot of paper and watching it blacken – have these people never done that? They should.

Eeee. *shakes head* I’m all for spirituality and oneness with the cosmos. But I draw the line at focusing the power of the sun into your eyeballs until they melt. Sounds, you know, dangerous?
