GeoGreeting is a nifty little Google Maps mash-up that lets you write words and messages with corresponding buildings to shape each letter. The J in Josh is a building in Ponomona, CA while the S in Spear is from Minneapolis, MN– funny because I’m from neither. The site also has a cute little share with a friend feature to send your GeoGreeting to anyone you wish.

shame about the repitition whereby there is only one version of each letter. lets it down badly.

a similar idea, but one that uses a database of (so far) 2500 images so you don’t get that kind of repitition, forms the basis of the UK ad agency BMB’s logo. (BMB, set up in part by ad guru Trevor Beattie). only a few variations appear on their site though, you’d have to see the business cards, letterheads, powerpoint presentations, reception plasma screens etc etc to get the whole effect.
