The first time I saw Golem was at a Jewish wedding, which was an amazingly perfect introduction. The stage antics and drunken styles of front man Annette Ezekiel Kogan drive the polka-on-speed grooves belted out by a five piece band. Since then they’ve gained a little more speed and have gotten some favorable press leading up to their new release, Citizen Boris. This is one of those sounds that stands out while other bands crunch together the same old stuff with new lyrics. Check them out at golemrocks.com.
