Easily the best iTunes plugin to come out of the developer wood work since Coverflow (which Apple quickly acquired) is iConcertCal– It’s a completely free plugin that monitors your music library and generates personalized calendars of upcoming concerts in your city. It’s available for both Windows and Mac, and is completely genius. You can click on the show and it takes you to the venue website. My question is how soon until I can just purchase tickets to the event through iTunes with my Apple ID? Via HipMojo

This opens my heart chakra to the universe. I’m not sure what that means but this iConcertCal is really, really tasty.

This is OK, but pales in comparison to SonicLiving. SL is web-based and much more powerful. It will scan your iTunes library (Mac or PC) and your last.fm and pandora accounts to populate your list of artists. New concert info can be emailed to you, and there’s even a social networking type of community built in and growing. Honestly if you go to a lot of shows it will change your life.

This app is weak – you’re better off checking http://www.pollstar.com for an accurate update on shows. nice concept – poorly executed.

iCal looks promising, but for me the best concert notification app has to be: Last.fm’s events system. Please see my review here: http://musicinterfaces.com/2007/02/13/lastfm-excellent-concert-notification/ and update here: http://musicinterfaces.com/2007/02/21/lastfm-concert-notification-developments/. The great thing it does is make recommendations based upon your music tastes and your friends and musical neighbours too.

this site is super easy to find the shows your interested in. You add your favorite artists then it displays all the shows you might like on one page.
