Curious George opens today, and although I've loved that little monkey since I was 3, I am much more excited about the soundtrack to the film, Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies, which I picked up yesterday. Written and sung by Jack Johnson, the CD boasts appearances by Ben Harper, G. Love, and Matt Costa on tracks like, “The Sharing Song”, and in reinterpreting some classics like Harpers, “With My Own Two Hands“. Johnson's roll as a new father definitely lends influence to his soft melodies and song selection on the album and helped him to create songs for all ages. I really like “Broken” and “Upside Down”. So from myself, George, and the Man in the Yellow Hat, close the curtains, throw on this CD, and get on island time, if only for a while.
