Led DogtagThe first thing that came to mind when I saw these scrolling LED dog tags from Tagz was “damn, why didn’t we have these when I was in college?” Just think … strap one of these to yourself and each one of your wounded soldier friends and everyone would end up safe back at the ranch at the end of the night. With the capability to custom-program Tagz, whomever finds you face down in the gutter will see your dog tag’s message and bring you home: “if found drunk and incoherent, please return to [insert name of college dormitory here].” These would have saved us some serious hassle back in 1998. If you really want to get iced out with these things, go here .

Walking down Denver’s 16th St Mall a couple of months ago I saw a kid wearing a large rhinestone encrusted LED belt buckle. It stopped me in my tracks. The wearer’s baggy jeans and other bling made LED seem entirely hip hop to me. I’m glad to see the displays making their way into other genres of fashion. When I head to the National Western Stock Show I’ll be looking for the country western version. If I find one I’ll be sure to let joshspear.com know about it. ;) — andy
