Wallets have a habit of getting filled up with a year’s worth of receipts that make your pants look as though you’re attempting to “compensate for something down there.” If being conspicuous about the location of your funds has more appeal than giving a false impression about your groin to the ladies, perhaps the Money Band is for you. We know it’s a rubber band, but this is not your everyday office supply. The Money Band is sized half-an-inch shorter and a little wider than your average band to fit perfectly around cards and bills, proving when it comes to where you keep your cash, size matters.

[ED NOTE: We want to hear from you. Is this true design innovation or just clever marketing?]

it’s crap!

“sized half-an-inch shorter and a little wider than your average band”? rubberbands are made in many different sizes and colors. it’s hardly an innovation. clever marketing is the nice way to describe this thing.

by the way, my partners, mr. staples and mr. officemax, and i have developed something quite similar. except we sell ours by the box. 440 per box @ $6.79. i’m sorry, though, ours don’t have a clever name printed on them.

If your trifold wallet is too thick, get a bifold wallet.
If your bifold wallet is too thick, get a slimline (and clean out your business cards)
If your slimline wallet is too thick, get a money clip
If you’re a #@&%ing idiot, pay $4 + S/H for a rubber band.

It’s smarmy faux-clever marketing.

And for all of you who want to take it to the NEXT level up in rubber band technology…

I dare any of you to find a rubber band out there this size. They don’t exist. (The closest I’ve found is the ones on certain produce.) I’ve done the looking, and came back to this. It’s very simple, and it works.

steve Wednesday, 07.23.08 @ 7:46 am

@Cory, now those are smarmy…
@ everyone else, have your tried the product? Or are you making large assumptions? Reminds me of all the iPhone “reviews” 4 months before the product came out last year.

Jwo Wednesday, 07.23.08 @ 7:54 am

@Micheal
1. trying the product before a review always helps.
2. office rubber bands don’t exist at a size to use as a wallet for sh!t. I’ve looked, I’ve tried, these work. “Office” rubber bands you speak of simply don’t.
3. I’ll bet you spent more than 3.99 on your wallet.

i hate wallets and i hate money clips. this thing is dope and fits perfect. i wrote about it on a private blog about a week ago. i want one.

If you read the site, it’s not an Office Rubber band. So much for people not only trying the product, but reading the product description…

My buddy has one, and didn’t give it much thought, until now. He raves about it.
I’m definitely checking it out.

I’m also really interested in this and planning on getting one.

After paring my “necessities” down to my drivers license, two credit cards, and a bill or two (I keep all of my other “loyalty cards” or other information in a billfold in my glove box), I bought a money clip. The problem is, it wears out the currency and scratches up my credit cards. This looks ideal.

Four dollars is a pithy amount to whinge about.
