It’s business as usual over at Monsieur T. as the Portland company (known for their uncommon and nicely under-produced streetwear) gears up for Spring/Summer 2007 with some great new designs. They’ve welcomed several new designers to the team this season, adding to their already stellar line-up of a wide range of artists from diverse mediums. Monseiur T is still right up there with Threadless in the pursuit of the anti-tee (a.k.a. an un-basic basic), so if rare yet comfortable shirts are your thing, definitely spend some time checking out their new line. This Mondrian inspired design is my favorite for guys; just mix in a pair of comfy jeans, a rooftop bar, a little sunshine, and voila! Summer!

Yeah I guess this shirt is cool, however not an innovative design at all. This is a simple rip off of artist Mondrian, that has been used by hundreds if not thousands of companies. The shirt could be just as much a Joico shirt as it could anything else. Therefore its whack for an artist to take something that has been obviously done for years and sell it…..straight whack

“Mondrian inspired” …

This guy sucks.

It is certainly in Mondrian’s distinctive style, but I’m not convinced this is a direct copy of any of his works; in fact, I’m pretty sure it’s not. If it IS, could somebody provide a link to it to prove it? Regardless, I don’t think this is one of Monsieur T.’s strongest designs.

Regarding Threadless as “rare yet comfortable,” Threadless isn’t really very rare anymore; in fact, they’re pretty mainstream as far as t-shirts go.
