How did you illustrate the map of flights; this looks beautiful.

Wendy miller Sunday, 01.01.12 @ 7:16 pm

Love this map, please tell me how you made it or if it’s an app or the like. Cheers & happy new year!

I found the image here: http://www.visualcomplexity.com/vc/project.cfm?id=673

I wish I could visualize my flights like that!

A wonderful visual Josh. You put me to shame! That said, when I travelled around the world from ‘05-’06, I think my map might have looked similar. All the best for 2012. D :)

Very nice visualization of vanity. But not a single thought on the absurd amount of fossil fuels it takes to support your hip global life style (please show us that calculation). How superficial can we get? Please tell us that you at least think your global coverage of trends and lifestyle helps making our world richer or better. Have a nice day all of you.

Josh Spear Tuesday, 01.03.12 @ 12:27 pm

Mikkel, if you have been reading my site for more than thirty seconds, or knew anything about me– you would know that concern was top of mind. But you’re an internet troll, so you’re doing your job.

Everyone else, thanks for your support.

Justin Tuesday, 01.03.12 @ 9:51 pm

Would really like to meet you next time you’re in Seattle.

Mikkel Wednesday, 01.04.12 @ 5:07 am

Hi Josh

Funny. I’ve actually been following you regularly for a good number of years but I’ve never noticed deep ecological concern (I mean beyond the fashionable). Well, my mistake then. As long as your conscience’s clean. NB. I’m not a troll and hardly ever comment unless I’m really provoked. Your post just create a totally vain impression of a ‘milage contest’ when some of us goes to great length to avoid flying altogether.
