I made a last minute change of plans in Dubai and I’m hopping over to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow for two days, on my way to Jakarta. As always I’m looking to meet entrepreneurs, artists, designers. Helpful tips welcome!
Amazing city! would loove to show you around if not for the fact that i am in America at the moment. Check out a restaurant/bar called palate palette, you are sure to find young, creative minds having a drink or two . Palate palette : 21 Jalan Mesui

My younger brother, who’s native KL, is a film director/producer who has created a few popular local TV series. Recently, he refurbished some historic townhouses in Chinatown to create Backhome, a successful hostel that’s consistently rated highly on backpacker sites. It’s very thoughtfully designed, though the website (which looks dated itself) doesn’t do it justice. He is currently working on a new boutique hotel that is inspired by Ace hotels but with a local twist. He is also well connected with local actors/personalities, designers and artists.
Let me know if you want to make contact with him. Enjoy your stay there. I’m from KL myself, and I’ve always thought that it’s a brilliant place to visit but not so great to live in.
