I’m headed to London tomorrow for the week– Although I anticipate having little free time, as usual if you have a tip for me to check out a shop, restaurant, club, art gallery or run an agency of some type and want me to pop by and say hello, please feel free to drop me a note. Also, I’ll be spending the weekend in Amsterdam and am always looking for tips for cities I haven’t visited yet. See you on the other side of the pond, Cheers…

Hey all-

I don’t know if you’re into that kinda “thing” but there is no atmosphere comparable to Abraxis, a killer coffee shop, west of Centraal Staad. Also, to catch a football game with some great atmosphere the bars in the main Red Light District serve best. And finally, don’t forget to ask about all the great waffle and crepe shops for those hung over mornings! No one does comfort food like the Dutch.

As for London, Stratford-Upon-Avon for some history and downtime for some world famous night life.

Have a wild time!

Cheers-
Luke

When in Amsterdam, check out the Last Waterhole. It is one of the places I stayed while in Amsterdam nine years ago when I was there for a month. It is the only redneck hostel in all of Amsterdam. They have great live music every night, pool table, a great bar with friendly service, and everything else that makes Amsterdam my favorite city in the world. Also, check out the Hill Street Blues next to the police station on Warmoesstraat for some outrageous space shakes, the best in Amsterdam. And lastly, check out the Jolly Joker Coffee Shop, where I painted this painting looking out the window at the passersby.

In Amsterdam, don’t miss the Pancake Bakery, which is a couple blocks down from the Ann Frankhuis (which itself is a good thing to see). If you’re with a few people, be sure to sample their savory and sweet pancakes. I used to live a block away from that place, and mmmmm. If it’s nice out, a trip to Vondelpark is always nice. I’d say just wander a bit – that’s the best way to get a taste of Amsterdam.

Stop by the Bier Koenig if you get the chance. It’s right off Dam Square either on Paleisstraat or one street over behind the Koninklijk palace. They have some of the most amazing beers you can find anywhere on Earth. Grab a few and head out to Vondelpark (stop at Grey Area – Take Raahuisstraat from Dam Square to the Herengracht canal, take a right, walk two blocks turn left and its on your right. Best place hands down.)

I’d also advice getting some Indonesian Food but I can’t remember the names of all the places I went when I lived there. Kantjil and Tiger is a good one although its probably spelled a little differently than that.
