Design minds Cole Gerst and crew at Option-G in L.A. are continuing their quest with a new release of 17 mostly enviro-angled t-shirt designs for their Spring/Summer 2007 line. We’ve been impressed with their designs for some time now, and Option-G is continuing to progress. In other news: they recently did two Animations for Scion (1, 2), have continued to design some pretty great music posters, and have been commissioned by Vans to be part of their charitable 2007 Sky Gallery artist series– as part of their involvement, Option G will be collaborating on a billboard in L.A. with 6 other chosen artists, will be designing a pair of custom shoes, and will be featured in a group show in November. Supposedly, a line of wallpaper is also in the works for Option-G– can’t wait for that idea to come to fruition! And as always, I’ve been getting a kick out of Cole’s ‘LALA Land‘ comic strip.

I’m all over eco statements on tshirts, but really, but if you’re going to talk the talk, shouldn’t you walk the walk? Shouldn’t these tshirts be made from organic cotton?

Cotton production counts for about 25% of all pesticides and fertilizers used in the world today–that’s a lot of rather nasty non-environmentally-friendly toxins getting into our water supply.

Surely, it’d be better to say it without spraying it…

Yeah, printing on organic cotton or organic bamboo would be pretty cool. I’m still a fan of their designs, though. I didn’t like last season’s shirts very much, but the one before, and now this one, are good!

A big gripe that I have with your posts is that when I link and the name of a company, I expect to be taken to the company’s website. Not another that you made about that comapny. Perhaps at the end of your posts you could have links to other posts about the same topic.
