Finding a good typographer isn’t easy. Finding a good animator with a sense of typography this good never even crossed my mind– until now. This quick animation of the famous moment in Pulp Fiction when good ol’ Samuel L. Jackon yells ‘What does Marsellus Wallace Look Like’ is absolutely fantastic. It’s amazing to see how much emotion, movement and intention the animator was able to portray while only showing simple letters, words and colors in different typesets. No idea on the artist, anyone know?

lazy — this thing is making the rounds, and this info is readily available: the artist is jarratt moody, a student in the time-based typography class at SCAD taught by justin cone (editor of Motionographer).

Hey, I like the type animation.

When I was like 13, my Dad got this laserdisc of independent animation. I found one of the clips on youtube. It’s a typograpical animation of “Sonata in Primitive Sounds” by Kurt Schwitters. You’ll start watching it, thinking it’s wierd, but you’ll find yourself still watching until the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1V-XHhdZrAA
It’s called “Primiti Too Taa” and I can’t believe it’s up on youtube. I thought it was something only my family had ever seen.
