From January 25th to February 4th, the Little Nell run on Aspen Mountain is the place to go to see the creme de la creme of action sports photography. Red Bull Illume is a photography contest that puts the top 50 photographers’ works on exhibit in a larger than life, on-mountain display. The judges for the competition include esteemed photo editors from some of the world’s top magazines, and they have been charged with choosing the best of the best– those photos which best capture “the spirt, the grit, the edgy perfection” of action and adventure sports. The stakes are big, as the winner of the competition will win a ‘photo shoot of a lifetime trip’ with an athlete of their choice. The exhibit is certainly one to behold in person, and you will surely get your exercise for the day by hiking high above Aspen to the numerous illuminated displays. If you can’t make it to Aspen to see Illume in person, you should at least go online to view the top 50 and vote for the People’s Choice Award.

There are some really impressive shots in here!

I’m browsing to find which one’s going to get my vote now and I’ve passed the link on to a couple other photographers around the office. Thanks Josh!
