RenskincareI recently started testing a handful of products for UK based skin care line REN, and was pleasantly surprised with my experience. Not only is the packaging slick and the story remarkable– what’s inside is really quite nice. They use no chemicals, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, coloring, or any of that other harmful business. Special nods to the Calendula and Artic Blackcurrant Cleansing Milk Wash and the High Glide Shaving Oil. If you’re in the UK you can purchase directly through REN’s site, if you’re in the US we recommend our pals at Details For Men. Stay tuned for more reviews of their products as we try them!

U ARE SNEAKY…HOW MUCH ARE THEY PAYING U TO SAY SUCH NICE THINGS…PRODUCT PLACEMENT AT ITS WORST!

Hiya, We don’t accept any money for editorial or reviews. We were obviously given the REN products free to review, and we liked them. That’s all…

LOL, but there’s a huge banner on the side. You wouldn’t have a vested interest in saying something nice now, would you?

Josh Spear Thursday, 11.09.06 @ 6:32 pm

Actually, no… they provide us samples to review, we write about the things we try that we enjoy. REN was especially nice because they were eco-friendly, a movement we support.

What it really comes down to is this: This blog is a free resource. We make money through advertising, not through advertorial. If you don’t like it, don’t read it.

Josh

Sure, whatever you say. I’m just pointing out that the more you gush over products you advertise the less credible your opinion on various products becomes.

Thanks for your feedback…

I have sent Josh a number of products to review since I met him and his group a few months ago and started to advertise on his site. Only a handful have been been featured on the site since the advertising started. It is entirely up to his staff to review the product and provide their honest opinion. The banner to the right is paid for, the editorial content beyond that is up to Josh and his staff.
