Designer Maija Puoskari has taken a unique look at bringing a winter wonderland into the home. I first noticed her Snow Print tiles over on AT:NY. They present the delicate look of foot prints in fresh powder, trailing off into the distance.

Further exploration of Maija’s site reveals that her interest in winter-inspired design doesn’t end with footprints; her Frozen serving dish is available in two versions, ceramic white that looks very much like wind-blown snow, or frosted glass that looks much closer to a jagged section of ice on a frozen pond. Of course, her interest in winter-inspired design isn’t shocking given that she’s from Finland. She’s done a beautiful job of incorporating her childhood memories into designs that can resonate with anyone — even me, a guy who grew up in Texas, with no snow in site.
