“Corn is for cars, sugar is for soda” is the tagline accompanying Jones Soda’s new line of sodas made with sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup. Coca-Cola has been playing with a similar concept, as they introduced a sugar version of Coca-Cola classic in April for Passover. Lately, we’be been seeing more and more companies “go back to nature” by using sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup. Jones Soda says they made the switch because of a change in consumer behavior– people are actively avoiding high-fructose syrup these days – and plus – sugar gives soda a better flavor.. Mmmm…pure cane Cream Soda.

I totally disagree with the tagline. Bio-Diesel made from corn takes more than a gallon of oil to make a gallon of ethanol. In contrast ethanol made from sugar burns hotter and clean, and takes less energy to make. If we are to become an energy independent nation we must look past the corporate spin and special interest group messages and find real solutions to our energy needs.
I recently switch from Aunt Jamima syrup and Hersey’s syrup to products that don’t have high fructose corn syrup so i applaud Jones Soda for doing this.

um … coke “introduces” the sugar version of coke (which is the original formula) EVERY passover. this is not a new thing for them…

Someone posted a blog about the price of pure sugar products being harder on the pocketbook.
Think of it this way. Spend a little more now, and save thousands later in medical expenses.
Thank you Jones for bringing this product to the market.
Oh and btw, Arnold so called healthy breads???????
High Fructose Corn syrup in the third ingredient after flour and water!!!!BEWARE, they are not what they claim.
I wrote to them to complain and got no response.
