Okay, let’s just put it out there; we could talk about the iPhone today, again. Over and over and over. Everyone else is doing it, and hundreds (or thousands, perhaps?) of people are hanging outside of Apple stores in all kinds of weather and in varying states of sanity just dying to get their twitchity little fingers on that scrumptious touchscreen. But, as it turns out, ABC, NBC, and every other media outlet in the world is already talking about the iPhone “phenomenon,” and we’re sort of…over it. A lot, actually. Besides, in the middle of a rather intense brainstorming session that took place after our obvious option for today’s TSF was viciously chucked out the window, Heather wisely said something along the lines of, “Well, I’m not waiting on line today. I’m picking the lint out of my bellybutton and de-worming [her new kitten] Ollie.” And that got us thinking, because if Heather’s managed to find such an interesting use of her time amidst her strenuous editorial and drinking obligations, Lord knows the rest of you have as well. So, dear readers, in an admittedly rebellious TSF, we just want to know what you’re up to today. Especially if it’s really, really unexciting. Of course, if you’re making out with Hillary Duff I guess we’d like to hear about it — but as far as we’re concerned, if 1,000 journalists are writing about waiting in line, pretty much anything you have to say will win our attention. Well, my attention, anyway; Heather’s seemingly occupied elsewhere.

I’m about to take a ping-pong break at work. Then its off to dinner and drinks. I did make a trip to Starbucks just so I could see the types of people waiting in line at the AT&T store next-door. They were all nerded out and surfing the net on their apple laptops. They’ll be doing the same thing at this time tomorrow…except it will be on a PHONE.

I was “at work” at “the office” today.

Weird, right.

Except from 1-2, when I was making out with Hillary Duff and picking lint out of Heather’s bellybutton.

Yeah, I’m more than a little sick of hearing about the iPhone already as well. Frankly, its expensive (I won’t go so far as to say “overpriced”, but it costs a pretty penny) and I ran away from Cingular last sept. for a reason, so I’m not chomping at the bit to go back. For the time being, my nano/razor combo will have to do.

So instead of waiting in line on what’s turning into a really nice summer day here in NY, I’m stuffed in my white-walled cube looking at dull layouts for a change (or not really), hoping I don’t get stuck working this weekend. And no, I’m not making out with Hillary Duff. I think she’s a little young for me anyway.

My sister and I drove from Boulder to Omaha, NE to see Roger Waters perform Dark Side of the Moon. The first set was incredible as well, featuring In the Flesh, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Have a Cigar, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, The Gunner’s Dream (off the Final Cut) and more! He encored with “Another Brick in the Wall Part II” and “Comfortably Numb,” which were amazing!

On the drive, we scored a pair of tickets to the Beastie Boys formal instrumental show at the Fillmore in August… and an iPhone. Overall a fantastic day!

We decided mid-week to go to a Ryan Adams concert and then after the show was over to travel out to the Apple Store in Burlington, MA or Chestnut Hill, MA since they were open until 12 betting they would have plenty of iPhones – verdict. No waiting in lines, concert, can even dinner beforehand. Much better than waiting…

I live in Australia…………. So I spent a usual Saturday just hanging. We don’t get the iPhone until next year or something. So like a lot of things, we are forced to be the little “special” kid in the back row of class watching the powerplays evolving between the smart kids and the jocks. It’s always fun though.
